Kukua Kindergarten

This project created a safe and nurturing space for young children to begin their educational journey. Beyond the classroom, the initiative focused on engaging families and communities, helping them support children’s learning at home and improve school readiness. By familiarising children with an educational environment early on, the project has laid the groundwork for long-term academic success.
The broader goal was to promote social change and social justice by reducing inequalities faced by vulnerable and marginalised children. As a result, children gained a basic understanding of Maths and English, setting them on a path to a brighter future.

A group of people surrounded by building supplies and a chassis for a building

This project is converting the former health clinic and an old school bungalow into six self-contained rooms for teachers, complete with a communal kitchen. It provides safe and much-needed accommodation for staff who would otherwise face long and difficult commutes to teach in this remote community.

Adjacent to the teachers’ quarters, an existing building has been renovated into a three-room residence for the school’s headmaster and his family, including a dedicated office space.
The headmaster has played a pivotal role in the success of several past projects. Known for his commitment and leadership, he turned down a promotion and relocation offer from a larger town, choosing instead to remain in Gbloo Kofi to see this transformation through. In recognition of his dedication, this project also ensures he has stable housing and support while continuing his work at the school. His loyalty has inspired confidence in the community, making this a deeply meaningful and impactful initiative.

New Mangoase Kindergarten

For over 60 years, the Mangoase school has been a cornerstone of the community. However, its youngest students, those in Kindergarten 1 and 2, are being left behind due to the lack of a dedicated learning space. With nowhere suitable to learn, enrolment has dropped significantly, putting early education at risk for this generation.

The proposed solution is the construction of a dedicated KG block. This new space will offer a safe and structured environment tailored to young learners, giving them the best start in life. It will strengthen their academic foundation and encourage continued progression into primary education and beyond. The new facility will also ease overcrowding in the existing school, creating a better learning environment for all students, and allowing teachers to deliver age-appropriate lessons more effectively.
