In Chisomo, hundreds of children have been learning under trees, with no classroom to shelter them from the elements. As the community grew, this meant lessons were constantly disrupted, and there was nowhere safe for children to learn.
With your support and donations, Gift of Hope were able to co-fund the construction of new classroom blocks and toilet facilities. This new space gives children a protected place to learn, come rain or shine, and gives the whole community a facility to be proud of.

The build wasn’t without its challenges, the location is 250km from our core areas of development. The construction team lived in the village for three months to see the project through, working closely with and becoming an integral and respected part of the community.

We’re thrilled to share that the school and toilet blocks are now complete. The community’s response has been brilliant, and it’s a huge step forward for education here.
